Summer season means that open-air movie theaters will definitely be enjoyable places to go. The  Open-Air Cinema Pompeji  in Berlin will be already open on April 30th this year, considering the incredibly good weather we get these days. Fans of outdoor cinema experiences will be welcomed with a big opening ceremony. At 5 pm the party is going to start. Concerts, BBQ stalls and of course great movies await you there.

The Pompeij Kino is characterized by its cozy and comfy flair. The ruins between which the cinema is located even evoke a historical atmosphere. The cinema itself can look back at a very eventful history. Here, one of the biggest places of business of the “Progress Film-Verleih”, which monopolized the industry of film distribution in the GRD, was located. Today you can watch the newest movies here, between remains of the Berlin Wall underneath the sky. 80 seats have been provided, or how about drinking a nice cold self-brewed beer in the beer garden or the pub?

With the opening ceremony set on the German holiday Walpurgis Night, the Pompeji Cinema definitely is the first open-air cinema to open its doors for movie enthusiasts. Which film however is going to mark the beginning of the open-air movie season is still unclear. You can find the cinema in the Laskerstraße 5 (Markgrafendamm) near Ostkreuz. For only 5€ per ticket you can enjoy excellent movies while enjoying the mild summer breeze.

I really recommend coming early to avoid the good seats to be taken.
