„Tregua“, that’s the peaceful name the three designers behind this label came up with. They met each other at a university in Buenos Aires. “Tregua” is Spanish and Mexican, it stands for “Ceasefire”. So how do you come up with a name like that? Natalia Casal, Lucia Cornejo and Marina Rulli wanted a strong, remarkable and catchy name. Even though Tregua is a very young label in the fashion world, the elaborately conceptualized structure the summer collection 2014 has almost lures you into thinking the opposite.

When looking at the various designs, you feel like you’re looking at display objects at a museum. This concept runs through the collection like a golden thread, because one outfit is right next to the other and they all topple each other in terms of sophistication and yet they all seem to have something in common.

Pastel blue, crème and beige are the collection’s main colors and with raffia and yarn adornments, the garments look like they’ve been put together. The mechanic aspect also is worth mentioning, a crème-colored thread is becoming a pattern on the slightly dark background. This way, the outfits are playing with your mind and they’re challenging you to keep looking to find something new and unfamiliar. Tregua’s designers aren’t debut designers anymore, they’re even familiar to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. And this time, on April 1st, they’ll strike us with their fall and winter collection for 2014/15 at MBFW México.
