“Julia y Renata” stands for a designer duo of two females that has been already collaborating for 20 years. These Guadalajara-based women set extraordinary standards in the field of minimalist designs. Also their monochrome color designs look very cunning.
Julia y Renata is one of the labels which we could never get bored of. The transition between the different outfits of the collection is similar to the light fabrics, which seem to wave softly with the movements of the wearer. It’s a flowing, gentle look that is spread by this summer collection.
Different olive shades, pastel colors, white and black build up the heart of the color palette, which is completed with orange. The most outstanding and remarkable details are the asymmetric cuts, followed by the high-necked blouse collar, sometimes even by a bib collar.
Experimental exploration and the different perspectives of the body are the never ending sources of inspiration for both designers. “Are there any mistakes?” This is a question the brand rarely poses. For Julia y Renata it’s more about “ the Possibilities of Interpretation” – a constant dialogue, which is challenging. Their pure, white interpretations are my favorites.
Julia y Renata will end the first day of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week México on April 1 with an amazing show.
