Gaming can be a lot of fun, but there are some things that are totally annoying. Here’s my top 3 of the most unnerving things about gaming:

1. DLC – Downloadable Content

Is there anything more annoying than DLCs these days? I’m paying a whole 50€ for a game and I don’t even get the whole package! EA Games has proven themselves to be the best example of doing DLCs wrong. More often than not the DLC (extra quests, side stories, guns/cars) is already on the CD/in the download! However, they still make you pay an extra 15€ to get the content that’s already on the CD?!

2. DRM Software – Software against piracy

I just got Assassin’s Creed or the latest ANNO, I get home, I install the game and start playing it! WRONG!! I have to install it, then I have to register using UBISOFT’s super slow online client and then I have to log in. (Fun Fact: They even do that for OFFLINE games) For some strange reason they even wanted my address. As a little reminder: I just wanted to play a game. Lately I got ANNO 2070, I registered and I couldn’t log in. Their Login (Authentication) Servers were offline! In conclusion, I had to wait two more days until I could even play the game…awesome.

3. Sequels (Fortsetzungen), die viel zu früh erscheinen

Is there a better example to show you this really annoying phenomenon than Call Of Duty? You just finished the story mode and suddenly a new DLC is released (see #1). You get the DLC, manage to finish half of its story or barely learn every new map in multiplayer mode and suddenly a sequel is released! Year after year ACTIVISION has been already annoying us with their rushed sequels which contribute absolutely nothing in terms of important gaming aspects. It’s the same engine, the same maps, the same story with different people, you just get a few even crazier weapons: How about the suicide bomber Wall-E from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? Or how about a German Shepherd like in COD: Ghosts?
