In the United States, Microsoft has launched a campaign which gives you the chance to get 100$ off the XBOX One! However, you have to trade in your beloved – or not so beloved – PlayStation 3 in.
Seems kind of familiar…Microsoft has done this thing before with the Apple iPad! You trade in your Apple iPad 2, 3 or 4 to get 200$ off a new Microsoft Surface Tablet.
Since the special offer for the iPad was done in Europe as well, us Europeans can too expect to swap our old PS3 for a new, shiny and modern XBOX One in the coming weeks.
Of course Microsoft is kind enough to give XBOX 360 owners the same deal, you can trade in your old massive one or the slim edition to get $100 off the XBOX One.
That’s really nice isn’t it? But here’s the controversy: With this offer, Microsoft declares itself competition for retail game stores. These days, the only game store worth mentioning is GameStop and even their stores are starting to slowly disappear.
