We  presented Joseph Turvey before with his animal-loving collection for autumn and winter 2013/14. You want to know what I mean? In terms of colors the fashion seemed rather minimalist. But thanks to the Dalmatian patterns, the fashion by Joseph Turvey still drips with extravagance. In the new collection for spring and summer 2014 however, there’s a change.  The new collection pursues an entirely different topic. The designer transforms his wearers into actual rose cavaliers. Just by working with prints, Joseph Turvey seems to be a real talent in dealing with colors and prints.

The print itself is an array of rose petals and leaves that are arranged together closely. The design is greatly reduced again color-wise. The roses are dyed with pale colors so they create a very romantic mood. They are usually printed on a white background. But they are also often covered by other patterns. This designer namely lets big stripes run across the textiles. Said stripes almost steal the roses’ whole for this reason. This crazy pattern is marked by a geometric touch and the struggle between romance and reasoning seems to be depicted by the fight between the roses and the stripes.  With this juxtaposition of floral and filigree attributes and geometric components, Joseph Turvey generates a high tension, making the collection for spring and summer a real eye catcher. The colors are fresh and the cuts casual, summer can come!
