The Russian Label Biryukov is named after the designer Oleg Biryukov who has been designing clothes for women since 1995. The label is very popular and successful already having been featured praised in Elle and Vogue. Biryukov stands for elegance, minimalism and feminism. The autumn and winter collection 2013/2014 mainly consists of dresses and skirts, so pants only play a minor role here. The lengths of the skirts and dresses are based on the current trends, knee-length, midi or floor-length. Generally in 2014, the miniskirt has rarely been needed and other skirt lengths were preferred.

The choice of colors is suitable for the colder days with mostly dark and warmer tones like brown, beige, wine red, gray and black. Oleg Biryukov barely works with patterns except for one dress and a skirt with an all-over print of equal-sized round elements. With this this reduced use of patterns, it’s the cuts speak for themselves being the eye catcher.

I particularly like the short-sleeved dress in the nude tone, as the cut’s very minimalist and yet exudes a very special effect due to the shiny, textured material. But the cape and pants combination is very well made as well.I feel like the cape trend is a welcome alternative to the jacket and the new relaxed pants in three-quarter lengths jazz up the fashion world as well.
