Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are probably two of the most sought after actors in the movie business at this time.
Lawrance did an extraordinary job with her iconic role in “The Hunger Games”, where she starrs as Katniss Everdeen. Whereas, Chris Pratt plays as Peter Quill in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Their first mutual movie project is going to be “Passengers”. In this Sci-Fi-Romance, thousands of people are sent on a journey to a distant colony in an UFO. But in order not to arrive at their destination as old men and women, the passengers are put in a cryogenic state of sleep. Due to a technical issue, Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) wake up too early – 90 years before the actual arrival at the colony. From this point on, the only company they have is themselves. But right before they manage to get to terms with their new situation, Jim and Aurora come to realize that the lives of the other people are in great danger.
The concept of the “Passengers” plot does sound a little familiar, though. Also in space, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney were the only two protagonists in “Gravity”. Nevertheless, the script of “Passengers” was written for more than 10 years ago – moreover, in Hollywood, that script was considered as extremely interesting in 2007 already. Back then, Keanvu Reeves was supposed to play as Jim, and Aurora was originally planned for either Resse Witherspoon, Rachel McAdams, or Emily Blunt.
“Passengers” will be released on 05.01.2017.
