At the New York Fashion Week in 2015, Israeli-born and New York City-based designer Daniel Silverstain attracted the attention of many fashionistas and celebrities with his unique futuristic chic, inspired by the legendary World Exhibition Expo67 in 1967, illustrating the relationship between humans and the environment in an unbeatably impressive way. Visitors were also granted a view into the future or rather the image the exhibitors from 62 countries had painted of the future.
Inspired by this very insight into the future, the newcomer Daniel Silverstain created an outstanding and fascinating collection full of alien elegance and extravagance. Metallic meets intensive color blocking. While colors, fabrics and textures come together in an eccentric way, the cuts remain clear and straight, and often obscure the female silhouette with their loose oversize fit. Silverstain’s love of architecture is reflected in exactly this almost constructed-looking cuts which breathes life into his fashion.
Given this special, yet wearable extravaganza, it is hardly surprising that even celebrities like Lady Gaga are fascinated by the newcomer, who is just taking a merciless victory march to the top of the fashion Olympus.
