The comedy drama Transparent casts a mercilessly revealing light on the extraordinary situation of American family of Pfefferman, consisting of professor and political scientist Mort (Jeffrey Tambor), his ex-wife Shelly (Amy Landecker) and their three adult children Sarah, Josh and Ali. At first sight, it seems to be an ordinary family from Los Angeles, until Mort reveals his transsexuality and proclaims to continue life as a woman named Maura.

As might be expected, this momentous decision sparks a series of fiery conflicts, sending the family on a roller coaster ride of emotions and turning points which the five family members can’t escape from.
