The currywurst is considered the symbol of Berlin and has reached a worldwide cult status. The Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Berlin is defined by a similar importance, which is why they extended their famous bestseller collection KURLAND with a sausage plate for their 225th anniversary. Thomas Wenzel created a design that reproduces the wavy form of  a typical currywurst plate but still features the characteristic KURLAND design.

The KURLAND Currywurst plate represents two sides of Berlin: the tradition of porcelain art, which is represented by the KPM company of Berlin, as well as the Berlin fast food culture dominated by the Currywurst.

This way the term ‘fast food’ receives a whole new meaning. When purchasing one plate, you get an original Berlin Currywurst with it, made by Berlin’s most popular Fast Food diner ‘Curry 36’.

From 3 August 2015 the porcelain plates are available in all the KPM galleries as well as in the KPM online shop on www.kpm-berlin.com. One plate retails for 59 euros, for a set of two you pay 118 euros.
