Despite only spending a brief time at Saint Laurent Paris, Hedi Slimane has left a lasting impression behind. He has a very succinct style, and he integrates this with his collections. He played a part in rejuvenating and reinventing the name of the French fashion house, and his designs are much more friendlier to a younger audience – as well as those who stay forever young 😉
Simply speaking, his creations radiate a casual rock ‘n’ roll charm. He is reviving the heyday of rebellious youth culture with his summer line 2015. His models capture the runway with their long flying hair and their casual and aloof style. They also have a rakish aura, often possessed by young musicians. Surprise surprise, Hedi Slimane tends to choose young artists to walk his catwalk.
This time, Jack Kilmer (perhaps you might remember him from the movie Palo Alto) is the lucky one – he’s dressed in a leather jacket, jeans, a shirt with paisley patterns and leather boots that deliver a finishing touch. I can’t look at him without thinking of Mick Jagger! The collection delivers a Boho-inspired rock vibe which Jagger embodies, and Saint Laurent shows us just how timeless this style can be.
