Directly opposite the National Auditorium on the Campo Militar Marte in Mexico City lies the venue of the Mexico Fashion Week. Occuring twice annually, this lavish festival of fashion is where the most important local designers (as well as some designers hailing from foreign lands) present their current collections. From 13th to 17th April, the latest lines will be displayed.

Thanks to a strong cultural identity prevalent in the country, there are also several wonderful creations waiting to be admired. This naturally means that I will soon have a great deal to report on, and I will do my best to keep you up to date on the latest verdicts of the best designers and labels. Try not to lose your composure as you marvel at the feminine and curve-hugging silhouettes by Benito Santos and the playful femininity of Pink Magnolia.

Avant-garde forms and bright colours of Vero Diaz, as well as the minimalistic, boxy cuts of Trista await you alongside the new summer fashion by internationally renowned label, Guess. The Mexican Fashion Week clearly shows that national fashion can blend in seamlessly with the international fashion scene.

So, look forward to the coming articles!
