Recently, I visited Peckham again, and this time I discovered some shops – there are so many nail studios and hair studios there! These hair shops are special Afro Shops and offer braiding, which looks really interesting.
Later on, I went to an Indian clothes shop, whose products looked very “western”. A woman from the Far East was sitting at the entrance, and offered to do some lash extensions and eye brow waxing for me.
I stood there for a while and watched her work. When she was done with her client, she came to me and asked me what I would like to have done. I told her that I really didn’t know, so she pulled me into the chair and started her work. I wanted to take a before-and-after picture for you guys, but she was too quick – her next clients were already waiting. Nevertheless, she took her time with me, and always took care to ask me if I was okay, even if she did begin grinning when I started to cry. 😉
It hurts so much, especially, if you’ve never done something like this before. One of the later customers examined her work and was impressed by it – and she was right! It took less than four minutes for me to get my eyebrows perfectly done, and it cost only three bucks.
After that, I had to take a break, because the entire area around my eyebrows had turned red. Fortunately, this disappeared a few hours later. The result was amazing – I’m probably going to have my brows done more often. I would never have achieved this result with my tweezers alone!
