Foundations, they form the perfect canvas for our makeup and are, besides a good skincare, the key to a flawless finish. bareMinerals has always been a brand that was there. But it never represented something special for me to explore. But then, one day my skin started to act out in a big way. Maybe it was due to the fact that I travelled a lot by plane or maybe it was due to hormonal reasons. I knew that I wouldn’t go out with a bare face for a million dollars. But if you put on makeup it will only worsen your case. So I was kind of lost. I then remembered something I heard a long time ago. I knew that Mineral Foundations, especially from a brand like bareMinerals, was made for problems like that.

Outer Appearance | bareMinerals Matte SPF15 Foundation
The outer appearance will be the first stop on our agenda. 6g Mineral powder was stored in a plastic box with a black, matte lid on top of it. When you took off the top lid, you are left with the product that is under a shift mechanism. You simply rotate the thing and tap or pour the powder onto the black lid. I have to say that the packaging could be better. The thing is extremely chunky and hard to travel with because of its size. The foundation alone takes up 30% of my makeup case.
The handling is something to get used to because you had to tap the product onto the lid, then swirl your brush in it and then tap it once more to remove excess product.

The product itself however, is pure perfection. The thing is: It distributes like heaven. You can build it up to your liking. If, for instance, you’re in the market for a Concealer, fear not, ‘cause it’s right here. Just use a smaller brush with the product and there you have your two-in-one item. The feeling as well as the finish is also something I could rave about for hours. It feels incredibly light on the skin and, thus, looks like you have nothing on your face at all. The best trait however was that I had time to really nurture my skin. I didn’t clog my pores and it therefore had time to balance itself out. I didn’t even had to get out on the streets with a completely “bare” face. And now that my skin finally cleared the hell up I won’t stop using it for no money in the world. I mean if it works, why fix it?

My boyfriend lives in Essen and how convenient for me that there is a bareMinerals counter in Limbecker Platz (shopping mall). Two of the loveliest and most capable employees work there. They really know what they’re talking about and the cherry on top? You always end up leaving the store with a bucket load of high-quality goodies. HELL YES. One box retails for 26.99€, which I consider as a great price for a High-End product. To all of you, who are in the market for a foundation that is light and especially gentle to your skin and nevertheless buildable and opaque will find love right here. The only negative thing is again, the handling. Since the powder is loose it can get absolutely everywhere. You have to be extremely careful especially when you’re on the go. If you can work with that, then congratulations, you have found your perfect companion for life. 😉
