Launched in June 2013, the Canada Philippine Fashion Week is an event which focuses on the encouragement and development of designers from the Philippines and Canada. Haute couture, innovation and various cultures come together during this event. Moreover, this spectacle also supports the Kol Hope Foundation – a charitable organization which aids disabled children in both countries.
The Filipino-Canadian business executive, Jeff Rustia, brought this dazzling week of fashion to life, taking place from June 9th to June 14th, 2014, in various spectacular locations in Toronto. World-class fashion shows, Philippine celebrities and super models, a diverse entertainment schedule, exhibitions and culinary specialties – the audience is truly getting spoiled there. The success of the first Canada Philippine Fashion Week was priced with the renowned FEO 2014 Award for “Best New Festival of the Year”.
Avel Bacudio, who was only recently awarded in Asia as the most influential designer of the Mercedes-Benz Stylo Asia Fashion Week, travels to Canada to present his current collection at the CPFW. His godsend talent and strong determination gave him the ability to keep up in the highly competitive world of fashion and to make a name for himself. The rising label Joana Almagro will also participate in this year’s CPFW. Her casual designs accentuate the silhouette of women with sophistication and irreplaceable aesthetics which are inspired by art, culture and historic architecture. The choice of colors, precision in the cuts and the variety of prints showcase the designer’s exemplary talent.

The second anniversary celebration of the Canada Philippine Fashion Week promises to be back with a spectacular schedule.
