Hamburg is celebrating Buddha’s festival!

The Vesakh festival, which comes from the Theravada Buddhism in South-East-Asia, honors and commemorates Buddha: his birth, his way to enlightenment and his way to extinguishment.

This festival has become a crucial event in Hamburg and it’s now time for the 9th edition! The different Buddhist groups of the city come together to celebrate with each other, to meditate and to talk about Buddhism.

Different presentations are held, even courses for mediation are offered and you can discuss while eating vegetarian food and drinking delicious tea. All Buddhists and everyone who wants to get a peek into this religion are invited to come to the Große Wallanlagen, near the skating rink and the Hamburg Museum.
