The Birmingham Fashion Week is opening its doors once again in April for one week, presenting various spectacular fashion shows attended by many special visitors. The fashion celebration begins on April 19th with a Costume Gala Party in the Alabama Ballet.
On Tuesday, April 22th, the fashion shows are initiated by the Grassroots Runway Show, which involves local designers like Elizabeth Singleton and Harold & MOD. Wednesday, everything at the BFW will revolve around the topic “Mind, Body and Soul”. Labels like Pure Barre, Mountain High Outfitters and lululemon athletica present their latest collections which all offer sports clothing on this day.

On April 23rd the day is preluded by the label LEONA. The creative director pulling the strings at LEONA is called Leona Leonard. She creates luxury fashion for the modern woman: cool, modern and classic – everything a woman needs, who places value on an immaculate wardrobe. Taylor Swift and many other celebrities love this label which has been featured in famous magazines like the Elle or the People Magazine. Thus, it is no wonder that the label is considered one of the fastest growing, contemporary brands of today’s fashion market.
Apart from established designers and labels, the Birmingham Fashion Week is featuring 30 talented young designers who get the grand chance to present their creations to a big audience. These young designers have been picked out of great number of fashion debutants beforehand for the Rising Design Rockstar Challenge. The winner of the entire challenge is going to be selected on the last day of the fashion week.
