For centuries the phenomenon “fashion“has only been of global importance in Europe and North America. The Shanghai Fashion Week  has already begun and shows that this is going to change. This event proves that there are countless, creative Asian artists who are breathing life into their visions of fashion with full dedication. I mean, there is a reason why these countries, in particular those in South-East Asia, are called tigers. Although this term is especially referring to their fast-growing economies, the Asian tigers are also slowly burying their teeth into the flesh of the international fashion world.

The Chinese fashion house We Couture indeed is one of the labels which contribute to this development. Brought to life by the two talented fashion creators Demi and Derek in the year 2008,  the brand has been presenting fashion since then, which could have originated from fairytales. Just like a soft touch the delicate, floating fabrics embrace the mannequins as if these robes are a breath of nothing. Dipped into a fine, transparent nude colors, the short and long dresses seem to become one with the skin of the wearer who is transformed into a fairy. We’s beautiful creations merely decorate the body of the wearer and let her natural beauty bloom.

Embellished and coated with black lace, one strapless robe enchanted me in particular. It consists of an opaque, tight-fitting dress, which is marked by a very sensual short cut, however the long legs of the fairy are additionally slightly veiled by a transparent, black, long skirt, which is attached around the waist and ends in an elegant train. Other dresses draw you under their spell with opaque floral applications on a transparent background, golden elements, valance details and origami-like, three-dimensional components which are supposed to look like flowers.

With their fashion, We Couture celebrates the sensual and elegant side of the woman who is aware of her beauty, exuding self-confidence. Just let We Couture take you into the fairy land at the Shanghai Fashion Week.
