The largest fashion event in Belarus, the Belarus Fashion Week by Marko takes place from April 8th – 13th, 2014 in the country’s capital Minsk. The eighth installation of this Fashion Week will house manufacturers, producers, purchasers and fashion loving customers, who all want to see the different presentations of the Fall and Winter collections of 2014/15.
The BFW takes place at a multitude of venues this season. It will, however, mainly be hosted at the head Pavilion, where famous Belarusian as well as international designers will present their latest collections. “Marko”, as seen as in the introduction is a Holding company that produce shoes and that will present a large variety of shoes in the lobby of the main pavilion as well as on the runway.
One of the designers that will take part in the event, just like in the previous instalments of the BFW, is Ava by Valeria Aksionova. Ava Fashion is ought to highlight one’s personality and thus be stylish as well as individual. The designer encourages women to not only follow fashion but also to create it. Ever since 2007 Valeria Aksinova has been a successful and passionate handbag designer. In these past years she has been creating more than 700 handcrafted bags. Avabags let any woman appear super trendy, even if she only wears a standard dress.

Who also took part in the BFW and will also be present at this year’s event is the label Podolyan. The aim of designer Vladymyr Podolyan is to create entire new forms this season, which he does by combining different textures, simple color combinations and the work with curtains. He designs women’s wear, in which each woman feels appreciated and graceful with every single step she takes. She will appear sexy, smart and mysterious. Oh my!
The Belarus Fashion Week offers the unique opportunity to get to know a lot of history of the fashion world as well as the special features and progress of this very industry. As part of this Fashion Week the Fashion Study Centre BFW offers a multitude of presentations, lectures and workshops led by experienced Belarusian and international fashion experts.
This year is also the year, where a lot of foreign colleagues will attend the Belarus Fashion Week by Marko (for instance: a representative of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, Ukrainian Fashion Week, Lviv Fashion Week and Serbia Fashion Week). The organizing committee BFW supports the country and its potential in the fashion world and its promise of an international career by actively creating relationships with Fashion Weeks from all over the world.
Belarus’ fashion world is blossoming right now and gets more and more recognition as we speak. We are looking forward to the event and especially to the latest collections of a huge number of talented designers.
