Well, I have to admit libraries do have something creepy to them. Books covered with dust, some of them have been existing on this earth longer than we do. They are full of secrets from past epochs and some of them haven’t been opened for a very long time. Who knows what kinds of secrets and forbidden knowledge lie within the pages of the archives and books which are home to our libraries.

Recently, a set of books was discovered in the library of Harvard, whose covers are made of human skin. And the skin was taken from men who have been skinned alive for their sins. This was a practice which has still been put into use in the 18th century. For the most part, books with occult contents have been wrapped in human skin.

However, this time it was different, which makes this discovery so incredible. This time, the human skin was wrapped around dictionaries and philosophy books in Spanish, French and English. This indeed is a rare find, but whether this makes this incident creepier is still something I’m not sure about. Well, at least I really have to think of H.P. Lovecraft right now.
