Alexandra Westfal definitively deserves to be featured at the Riga Fashion Week (April 01 – April 05). It’s clearly visible that the designs of this modern fashion brand embody Riga’s soul.
A sophisticated purism defines the collections for spring 2014. This is also reflected in the color choice. The creations almost look icy because of the white which is added to the entire outfit, including dresses or suits which consist of pants and tops. A fresh breeze is touching me when I look at these creations. It might be the same breeze as the one which crosses this aspiring city in the Baltic States.
A contrast to the cool white is shown by a beautiful brunette model that is covered by black and deep-blue. The only bright color is a nice ruby-red on a floor-length, casual dress. This eases the color concept. There’s only one print that attracts attention. It creates the impression that blue color is melting on a white surface. Alexandra Westfal didn’t want to lace in the wearers. The material is very loose. However, the slim silhouette becomes visible by the nicely shaped shoulders or the endless legs.
Alexandra Westfal l’s fashion looks cool, contemporary and is reduced on the essentials. Even without any complicated decorations, the looks still attract attention and capture our fashion hearts.
