The idea behind VOODOOGIRLCOUTURE came on a Yacht that brought its passengers from port to port. Katia, the girl behind it all, the actual “Voodoo Girl”, came up with the brilliant idea to dip-dye her old rags to bring them back to life. She travelled the whole world on her Yacht and got inspired by various impressions on sea and out in the world. These experiences filled her creative mind and resulted in a fresh young label that now offers fashion with interesting motifs and prints.
Take the “Barbie Dress” for instance. It’s an asymmetric dress with a dip-dyed end. Barbie is printed on the front, but that’s a side of her you’ve never seen before. This dress is the perfect statement piece and looks incredible paired with an old leather jacket. The same print is also available on a T-Shirt. If you like it a tad more laid-back, take a look at the blue sweater with a hoodie attached. You can wear this during a BBQ session or even if you are watching DVDs with your friends, it’s that versatile.
Another must-have for me is the “Tropical Sleeveless Denim Jacket”. This one’s going to be my personal highlight of the summer. The soft Ombré-effect brings fills my heart with joy and reminds us all that fashion should primarily be about having fun!
