guerlain la robe noire

Guerlain’s creations are one of a kind. Even though Guerlain is an established brand, they always keep looking for creative innovations without losing their thumbprint.

Everytime I get Guerlain samples, the first thing that comes to my mind when I take a smell of the fragrances is: “Uh, what’s that? Interesting … do I like it or do I not like it?” I’m not very sure at the beginning: “Hmm…uh, ah, oh…mhhh!”.

At the end, I’m always a little fascinated, because the scents constantly daze me. They are not mainstream even though almost everyone knows Guerlain. They often have a herb scent and sometimes remind me of the Bottega Veneta’s concept for fragrances, a brand that has already created many exceptional fragrances with willful characters, such as the „Eau Légère“. Nevertheless, I find Guerlain a little more sophisticated when it comes to the fine tuning.

The edp “La Petite Robe Noire” (Engl. little black dress) consists of an unusually dominant flower bouquet, which is unified with herb sandalwood or moss. I know this sounds quite unlikely, but it isn’t. Smoky aromas contrast the delicate aroma which is filled with overripe, withering rose blossoms. Have you ever rubbed a rose blossom between your fingers? Have you felt the delicate texture? This texture can be also found in the scent, which is lightly powdery.

I like the “La Petite Robe Noire”, but I don’t think it’s an everyday scent or made for a conventional taste. I think the wearer is someone who is mature and self-confident. It’s a very special fragrance, which will stick in your noses and heads.

The only girly thing is the flacon because of the ornaments. Deep black is paired with innocent rose. They unify the mystic charm of femininity in a sensual way.
