The young designer was born in Goteborg, Sweden and grew up in Oslo, Norway. Today, he lives in London, where he also graduated with a Master’s degree in menswear from the Royal College of Arts in 2009. The following year, he launched his own label and started promoting his printed t-shirts. He doesn’t have a specific target group. His designs are made for everyone.
For his fall/winter collection 2014/15 he got inspired by the space and art. The painter Alex Grey became his muse. Grey focuses on every single detail and creates colorful and crazy patterned paintings which also sometimes refer to critical topics.
The collection is named “Glimpse the Eternal”. The designer shows detailed and colorful images, which are inspired by the graffiti art. The colors are reduced to blue, violet and some yellow while Grey focuses more on orange shades. Black and white complete the color palette and calm down the background which is decorated with lines, squares and other patterns.
Alex Mattsson is a versatile label and offers fashion for those who like the special details and who want to wear cool clothes. The creations stand out of the crowd, but are still wearable on the streets. By the way, we’ve also already made a post about his spring/summer collection 2014. 😉
