Sandro Marzo was born in Basel and studied art and design. After having graduated he founded his own label called Sandro Marzo. Thanks to his own, untypical design which is combined with traditional materials, he became more and more popular in the fashion scene. His fashion resembles the uniform look because of the limited use of colors. Actually, there are no colors used this time! Only black and white and some grey parts are employed. That’s minimalism at its finest!
The cuts are a little more extravagant. Clearly structured, almost graphical cuts separate the upper body part from the bottom part. However, they do not always have the same and ordinary size or perspective. That’s how you’ll find for example extra-long shorts or brief jackets which reveal your t-shirt you’re wearing underneath.
The different “color” sections are perfectly arranged. They create graphical shapes that complete each other thanks to the special cuts. Long pieces are combined with short ones. Symmetrical designs clash with asymmetrical styles or vice versa. Sandro Marzo leaves out any accessories to retain the creations’ identity. Buttons and zippers are the only jewelries in this collection.
In this collection, which is named “Fade”, light is brought with the different grey shades and the wide white parts. A scarf is for example put on the model’s shoulders and simple stripes result in a thrilling contrast. Sandro Marzo proves that minimalism isn’t boring at all.
