For the Asian kitchen admirers I’ve got a tip which I’ve recieved at „Ars Vivendi” ages ago. That is a Made in Berlin series in which Manuel Werner, my Oprah Winfrey of gastronomy, presents culinary temples. You get a view of his and his guest’s food.

Lins Mandarin 2 is the Chinese pearl’s name right in the Uhlandstraße. This pearl is located at the backyard, behind the familiar fetish hot spot “Hautnah”. So next time you’re planning to shop there, go a bit further and pay the Lins Mandarin 2 a visit.

The restaurant is located at a pleasant place, far away from street turmoil. It is between the Fasanen St. and the Uhland St. and has kind of a cute park note to it because of the passage, the playground and the little green. It is a great tip for summer, especially for families. You can enjoy the meal outside and let the children play in the sandbox.

We visited the restaurant at the end of Sunday, a culinary excess, which I won’t forget anytime soon.

Live-cook, warm meals, desserts, salads, soups, ice cream, sushi, fish, prawns, sea fruits, meat, meat, even more meat and in between dumplings. This isn’t it. There are also many different mushrooms, algae, raw vegetables and sprouts to have thousands of ways to make your very own dish.

What you should know: There’s a plate on your table, on the plate there’s a wooden peg with your number written on it. You take this peg and make a mixed plate of whatever you want. You put this plate on the Live-Cook’s bar. Then a waiter brings you the plate, thanks to the number on the peg. Et Voilá!

Beforehand you can of course stuff yourselves with the chicken, beef, pig, the dumplings filled with all kinds of wonderful things and the peanut-oyster-sweet-sour-sauces as well as fresh salads with cilantro. The range goes from vegetarian Sushi to corn soups and sour spicy soups. White and black Mousse au Chocolat, jelly, fresh fruits and many different ice cream types will always find a place in your tummy after all the food!

The thing is: I’m a soup fetishist and unfortunately I could not find my personal heaven here.

Already the huge mass of ready to eat meals and the land of milk and honey this BBQ offers, you should pay a visit to the Lins Mandarin 2. (Check: For €29.90 you get all you can eat & drink per head with a rebate for children) On this day I really took a bite of EVERRYTHING.

A Babylonian binge is awaiting you…
