Als 1973 in Großbritannien eine Inflation auftrat, mussten viele Geschäfte auf Sparkurs gehen. Der damals noch junge Isaac Benson musste sich etwas einfallen lassen, um an Arbeit zu kommen. Daraus entstand eine einfache Idee, die zu etwas viel Größerem führen sollte…mit geliehenen 70 £ kaufte er sich etwas Stoff und schneiderte drauf los. Die fertigen Produkte hing er bei seinem Onkel im Laden aus. Diese Verkauften sich überraschend gut und so machte er sich langsam aber sicher einen Namen.
1979 eröffnete er sein erstes Geschäft und vertrieb weiterhin seine Herrenmode auf den Marktständen. 1985 hatte er eine eigne Linie mit einem Geschäftspartner, sie bestand aus Strickjacken und Jacken. 1988 gründeten sie das, was jetzt als Guide London bekannt ist. 2005 übernahm Isaac die gesamten Anteile von seinem Partner und leitet das Geschäft nun mit seinen Söhnen…und die Geschichte hat noch nicht aufgehört…sie fing grade erst an.
Die neue Kollektion ist in einem traditionellen und klassischen Stil gehalten, kombiniert mit modernen Elementen, naturellen Farben in gedeckten Tönen mit Verzierungen, die von einfach und minimalistisch, bis opulent und prächtig reichen. Egal ob in formalen Casual- oder „Fancy“-Designs, alle sind sie perfekt ausgespielt.
Die Linie umfasst Jacketts, Hemden, Shirts mit Kragen aber in legerem Design (kein Polo), Cardigans und Pullover aus Strick mit Doppelreihenknöpfen…alles untereinander kombinierbar. Als komplettes Set getragen, wirkt es stilistisch und casual, urban und stilsicher. Guide London as we know today established itself in the East End of London in 1988. Its history is probably not well-known but it is worth knowing. What happened before the foundation? http://www.guideclothing.co.uk/
When the inflation hit Great Britain in 1973, many companies had to take on belt-tightening measurements. The then young Isaac Benson had a hard time finding a job. But necessity is the mother of inventions and ideas. That is why an idea struck him, which should lead to something big in the end. Benson borrowed £70, bought fabrics and simply started tailoring. The finished product was presented at his uncle’s shop. Surprisingly, his creations sold well. Thus, Benson slowly was making himself a name.
In 1979, his first business opened, still distributing men’s fashion on markets. In 1985, he launched his first line with a business partner, which consisted of cardigans and jackets. In 1988, they founded what is known as Guide London today. In 2005, Isaac took his partner’s share in the business and is now running the enterprise with the help of his sons. The company history, however, doesn’t stop here. It has just begun.
The new collection is characterized by a traditional and classic style, combined with modern elements, natural colors, dulled shades and embellishments which can be plain and minimalistic but also opulent and gorgeous. No matter whether designed in a casual or fancy way, Guide London makes sure the garments tap their full potential.
The line includes jackets, shirts with collars but also casual shirts (no polo shirts nonetheless), cardigans and pullovers made of knit with double-rowed buttons….
