Since the 18th century, fashion has been an important part of our society. It defines us and reflects our lifestyle.

Previously, individual designers were known for their inventions, such as Mary Quant for the mini skirt, Rudi Gernreich for the Monokini and Vivienne Westwood for the punk and the mini crinoline.

Nowadays, it is no longer easy to create something new, because there is already something as good as it and everything is already there. Designers have the more difficult task in the 21st century and have to deal with the wishes of the customers, which are fortunately not a problem through the digitalization.

The most influential designers come from all over the world. They are known, they are desired. But how about fashion from the capital? In Berlin, the German fashion has its origin and even today Berlin is Germany’s fashion metropolis. Not least because of the numerous Berlin designers.
