While French-Spanish label Balenciaga made negative headlines with a Whites-Only-Policy which describes the exclusive hiring of white models, the label Babyghost, which was founded in 2010/11, convinces with diversity and urban eccentricities. It was launched by the multi-cultural duo Qiaoran Huang & Joshua Hupper. The label bridges cultural barriers and uses the differences of urban streetwear around the world as expressive inspiration.

The bi-continental label takes you on an exciting journey, inspired by the jet set life of the two designers who excel with their fashion in the Chinese and the American market, and connect the culturally influenced street fashion of Chinese cities with Western trends. The result is a partially eclectic mix of fabrics, textures and occasionally inserted patterns, often joined together as layered looks, where several pieces of clothing are worn in layers. The fashion of Babyghost is edgy, refined, perhaps a bit special and probably nothing for proponents and advocates of puristic, minimalistic and reduced elegant chic.

This doesn’t mean that Qiaoran Huang & Joshua Hupper have no idea of ??elegance. They simply have a different definition of it. They add an eccentric touch without losing sight of the wearability and functionality of their interesting streetwear. The fashion of Babyghost is therefore characterized by many facets. You can be chic and elegant, but at the same time cool, casual and extravagant, just like the label’s muse, Chinese supermodel Xiao Wen Ju, who was signed on by IMG Models

However, all outfits have one thing in common. They are absolutely stylish and have an amazing design.
