Smashbox has an impressive and ever-expanding line of the so-called Photo Finish primers. The newest addition to the clan is the pore-minimizing version that claims to dramatically reduce the appearance of pores and makes your make-up last for up to eight hours.
It is a fragrance-free, sheer but tinted primer. Once you squeeze it out of the tube it appears rather thick but softens on your skin until it dissolves into a powder-like finish. The powdery and silicon-y finish fills your pores and smooths as well as blurs the appearance of pores.
Upon trying my sample sized primer I got from an order at Douglas I instantly fell in love. I’ve been an advocate of Benefit’s Porefessional for a long time, yet the Smashbox one really did it for me. I usually have really oily skin but this primer kept it all at bay just not for the whole day but that was fine by me. The real reason I really got smitten with it was the fact that it made my make-up look absolutely flawless. It had smoothness to it I never seen before and this got me addicted in the end. However, I did experience streakiness with my Mineralized Powder Foundation by Bare Minerals. I think it’s because of the unique powder finish of the foundation.
So what I’d suggest is you try this primer with liquid foundation and see for yourselves. I find when used under or over liquid foundation it really does wonder for your maquillage.
