It is night and I have spent six hours studying. My eyes hurt from reading so much and I realize that I cannot concentrate anymore. But there are still so many Wikipedia articles that are interesting and that I just want to read today. Now, I have a big problem, which also many other students might know: studying or do all your everyday life stuff. Then, I found a totally unremarkable website – www.pediaphone.de

Here, you can listen to Wikipedia articles in many languages as MP3-files. Even self-penned texts. An interesting feature is also the option to listen to local Wikipedia articles. This works with the help of speech synthesis. Pediaphones are available as free apps for Android.

Originally, it was a project of the Fernuniversität Hagen. This project is now continued privately. If you are on the way in your car, riding your bike or like to go jogging, this offer might be a nice completion for your audiobooks or podcasts.

Sometimes, it is the small inventions that are the most effective ones. This app saved my evening and my eyes are happy to have more free time.
