Nguyen Thu Tru declared that she was born on May 4th in 1893. Documents from the colonial era prove this to be true. The former oldest still living and breathing woman was 116 years old and from Japanese origin. And a 3 months older Peruvian recently claimed the title of the oldest woman alive but now that Nguyen Thu Tru is in the picture both of them have to accept that they’re defeated – by 5 years. The secret for her longevity is still unknown.
