Obama delegates military staff to the Near East: Which position does the United States take in the Iraq war?

It seems like civil wars burst out everywhere on this planet. “We are ready to take military action, if we see the need on-site” the president Obama said. At the same time he clarifies, that no American is going to actively participate in fights. No soldiers are going to be sent to participate in the war against the Sunnite jihads, because involvement of outsiders would not solve the problem.

The first priority is to protect the American civilians in Iraq, who are working in embassies. There are currently around 5000 US citizens in Iraq. However, the US military could yet get involved in the fight against Sunni jihadists, critiques say.
