Mutare is a label that has already established its name on many levels in the fashion industry. Besides a Basic Line, a Well being Line, an Art Edition and a Couture line, you’ll also find some pieces regarding bridal wear. But to all those lines mentioned, which have always borne a rather sporty style, there’s another specialty of designer Kathi Halama: accessories.

The Master Collection includes bags, which leave all their competitors in dust. The designer combines functionality with distinctive designs of which the texture is quite reminiscent of wood grain. Furthermore, Kathi Halama seems to be rather fond of fanny packs as she has dedicated a part of the Master Collection to them.

In contrary to the Master Collection, the rougher B-Collection contains gloves. While handbags are the usual daily necessities, the items of the B-Collection are literally meant for the harsher times of life. The similar look to boxing gloves probably indicates that already.

Kathi Halama, who won the Von Taube Award in the category handicraft in 2011, works in a project community with leather gloves manufacturer Rico Wappler Annelin where they only use lamb’s leather which counts as one of the best leathers in the world. If you’re still not convinced of the superior quality at Mutare, you can take a better look at the pieces during the Berlin Fashion Week in the Greenshowroom.
