Mina Lundgren has dedicated a whole collection to cube-shaped designs. It’s a collection full of innovative creations. With this geometrical shape as an inspiration she creates fashion at its finest. I’m impressed by the artistical effects and mostly by the versatility. She only needs one model to create many different ones; and none of them look the same except for the fact that they’re all based on the cube shape.
The cube is everywhere – be it on the top or on a dress. The design is formed by a fixed shape which is covered by layers of fabrics. Mina usually uses transparent fabrics which create 3D illusions. Whether it’s a top in a 3D-cube-look or dresses with one or more attached cubes, the look convinces with its exciting minimalism.
My favorite piece is the sculpture-like dress, which consists of numerous, little cubes of wood which are strung together. You can even look through them! The collection is kept in muted colors including light shades and mainly white. Uniting art and design, Mina Lundgren surprises with her interpretation of fashion. She creates pieces which fascinate us!
