With his fall/ winter collection 2013/14 Joseph Turvey recalls the sad story about the 1001 Dalmatian dogs. The whole collection is dedicated to the enchanting dogs and their funny fur. This inspiration is included either subtily as various dots or in a more offensive way as a print of a Dalmatian head. The collection also includes a shirt which is embellished with straying dogs.
Also the colors match the dogs – that means, black and white everywhere! They are combined with bold red. One of the sweaters stands out by showing another breed of dog on it. This one is brown and wears a red visor cap; and is shown on the front and back side.
Two prints in this collection interprete the typical pattern which decorate the dogs’ fur. one of them works with sharp circles while the other one consists of drops and dabs. Turvey uses these prints to create the pants and matching jackets, which are though also offered in plain colors. This helps to calm down the crazy collection.
Joseph Turvey demonstrates himself as a animal loving designer. He provides dog owners with matching clothing. However, these dotted designs also look fabulous without real dogs.
