Asia is known for its extraordinary beauty trends. Here are some more curious examples from Japan:

The smaller, the better:

In Japan, one female ideal requires the woman to be as small as possible  – from head to toe, the more delicate, the better! Kazuhito Nagasaka therefore developed a massage that is supposed to push bones together and to shrink body parts. Face masks with a diminishing effect are also used to help shrink parts of the face.

The Fish Pedicure

A very popular method for pedicures are the doctor fish which remove dead skin cells with their toothless jaws and leave the feet soft and smooth.

The Eye Glue

To fix non-existing eyelids, the so-called monolids, the  ,Eye Putti’ glue is used to create a crease in your lid. A small strip on the desired crease glues the skin on the eye together for a crease effect. This not only opens the eyes, but also allows more freedom in applying makeup.
