The biggest secret at the Prada show SS16 wasn’t the next new fashion trend in the upcoming summer but rather what products makeup legend Pat McGrath used to create the models’ gorgeous golden lips. She was also the creator of the magnificent golden eye brows for Dior in the year 2014 and a significant reason why gilded eyelids that appeared in countless fashion and beauty campaigns became so popular. The press, including beauty editors from around the globe, tried their best to get a glimpse into the artists’ makeup bag. But they all were left empty handed.
A couple of days, after Prada’s SS16 show, the British makeup artist finally let the cat out of the bag: The multi-purpose product that caught all the attention during the event was in fact a product she designed and created on her own. Gold 001 is a gold pigment and the first Pat McGrath-branded makeup product ever.
The global creative design director of Procter & Gamble describes her product as a “mysterious, high-impact, rich, metallic pigment”. We do not know anything about the pricing and the exact launch date yet. But what we do know is that you better get ready to snatch it as soon as it is launched because it will be a limited edition.
