“The secret of elegance lies in the simplicity.” – Christian Dior

Dior and I

Directed by: Frédéric Tcheng
Starring: Raf Simons, Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard, Sharon Stone (as herself)

Over and over, you hear the rustling of fabrics. The night guards say they sometimes see a shadow moving around, or hear footsteps in the hallway. They say it’s the ghost of Christian Dior, returned to guard his beloved enterprise. They say that he still wanders through the studios of Dior, of one of the most iconic fashion brands in the world.

The ghost of Christian Dior was allegedly even spotted several times on the film set of “Dior and I”. During that time, Raf Simons had been declared the new creative director of the legendary fashion house, and he had been given 8 weeks to create and present his first collection for Dior – 8 weeks to prove himself worthy of this extremely sought-after position.

Dior and I – this exciting documentary presents the debut of Raf Simons, the Belgian minimalist, in a very fascinating manner. His biggest challenge? Figuring out how to stay true to Dior’s roots while at the same time creating something new and original. In the beginning, the designer seemed insecure about the methods practiced at Dior. But Raf Simons isn’t a man to give up. In only 8 weeks, he succeeds in creating a collection that will be, without exception, reverently celebrated by the media and the entire fashion industry.
