Helen Frankenthaler and Robert Morris have one thing in common – the painter and sculpture artist have both influenced this year’s autumn collection of the label Proenza Schouler. The designer-duo, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, met each other during their studies and afterwards founded this label in 2002. They place a great deal of value on the expression of their contemporary work.

Special wrapping techniques, cutouts, fabric overlays, fabric combinations and unique lines excite and makes one’s heart beat just a little faster. Here, there is no one fashion piece based on a common design: the cuts exude a modern femininity and play around with the contrast between soft and hard lines, all the while remaining firmly womanly. Firm winding elements, sudden cutouts or furry inserts give rise to an impulsive, exciting and spontaneous look.

The line consists mainly of dresses, with more than 40 looks in total. The colour choice also seems versatile, ranging from black, red, brown to white and even attractive leopard-prints. Colours, fabric types and material structures meet one another, all in a single look! But enough from me – why not see for yourselves?
