Hello fellow beauty lovers.

In the previous week I introduced you to 3 beauty myths concerning our favorite topics: beauty, skin care and makeup. Those 3 were all surprisingly true but this week around I’d like you to get to know 3 additional beauty myths that you shouldn’t believe right away,. If you want to know more about this topic, keep reading.

Myth No 1 – Special hair treatments products can cure split ends
I’m sure we know this feeling of hunting down miracle workers that will eliminate those nasty split ends in out hair. Some of us even pay a small fortune for this, but it’s a fact that no oil or serum could possibly reverse the process of split ends. Once the hair ends are split, there’s no way back, I’m afraid. But I see why some might think that their oils might work. You see, oils often have huge amounts of silicones in them making the hair appear to be smoother after application but this phenomenon only lasts for a couple of hours top. Then the condition of your hair will revert back to its broken, split state before. The only thing that will get rid of your split ends is a trip to the hairdresser.

Myth No 2 – Daily use of makeup damages our skin
Makeup Lovers, you now have a true reason to breathe because whoever told you that the daily wearing of makeup is damaging to your skin is not that well-informed as he or she wanted to be. Sure, the no-make-up-day feels amazing but it’s not the fact that you’re wearing makeup is the thing that causes you to break out. It’s actually what you don’t do in the evening. The daily removal of your makeup in the evening is crucial for maintaining a healthy, glowy skin. And no, a little bit of makeup remover is not sufficient. You need a cleanser to really dig deep into those pores to get the entire gunk out. And please do this daily to maintain your rosy skin.

Myth No 3 – Shaving will make your hair grow thicker
I know this little saying all too well. My mom used this on me and caused me to fear the razor. Well, thanks a lot mom. When I got older I discovered that this was not entirely true. You see, no shaving tool in the world can actually change the way your body hair is structured in thickness and, well, form. They only appear thicker because you essentially cut them off. Whilst waxing you pull the hair with the root out, but if you merely shave your legs, the thicker end of the hair will just continue growing out of your skin. And the lower end of your hair is usually much harder and thicker than the upper end, so that’s why it feels more stubbly and thicker when in fact it’s not.

That’s about it, guys. I hope you found this post interesting. I’ll see you on Manicure Monday. 😉

Yours truly,

Lana Hoang
