Oslo-born photographer Daria Endersen first caught my attention when she published portraits of the band AMENRA. Since they are one of my favorites when it comes to music, I started to do some research on this artist. Besides these well-made portraits, she has a lot more to offer.

Her complete works are based on her personal experiences that she gained in the past. And as you can tell, according to the pictures, they pretty much belong to the criteria: “I don’t really like to do that…”

The images resemble surreal episodes of dreams that have been recreated on photo paper. Often, you will distinguish human beings. However, their humanity is taken by the surroundings and their expression. They rather look like shells of humans dominated by other beings. Of course, these kinds of results can’t be simply achieved by photography. Her pictures are digitally edited.

The color saturation is lowered and it seems like one would observe them through a wall of smoke and fog, which amplifies the effect even more. Daria Endersen really manages to make exciting images which cause dark associations in our minds. No wonder, AMENRA let her take their photos.
