With each new year, a new era is beginning in the fashion world. At the beginning of the year, the fashion scene will experience a real revolution driven by the launch of countless new collections by amazing designers. This special event won’t only make the hearts of fashion fans leap for joy, but of course the worldwide media and the designers themselves are all absolutely seized by the numerous fashion weeks which will take place in the winter and spring in metropolises all around the world. Right now, all eyes are locked on London where the legendary London Fashion Week took place from February 20th -24th.

You missed this sensational spectacle? Well, don’t worry – I will sum up the highlights of this event for you. First off, I want to let you know that the various fashion brands all presented incredible designs which excelled each other in terms of sophistication. The visitors were really left in awe, when the designers’ visions of the coming winter 2015 and 2016 were revealed. London, the epicenter of everything fashionable and stylish, the home of avant-gardism, can’t be compared with any other metropolis considering fashion. During the Fashion Week, many different worlds clashed with each other, shoes, ready-to-wear fashion, accessories, haute couture – they were all part of this spectacle.

Organized by the British Fashion Council, the fashion week is taking place two times a year and belongs to one of the biggest and most influential ones within the fashion scene. A very special highlight: the live broadcast of the most anticipated shows. This special feature indeed makes the spectacle accessible to each and every fashion victim in this world.

The prelude alone was just great. It was the talented designer J. JS Lee aka  Jackie Lee, a Korean creator of innovative fashion, who opened the entire event. With the focus always placed on her own visions of modern fashion, she presented designs which were architecturally inspired and yet defined by soft structures to the fashion world.

The first day was furthermore filled with the shows of labels like Bora Aksu whose eponymous designer from Turkey shows the world with his collection that he succeeded in redefining modern femininity with this modern interpretations of elegant women’s wear.


The second day was defined by pompous designs. The art-loving lifestyle brand Mother of Pearl and the women’s wear visionary Simone Rocha totally drew the visitors under their spell.

Sophia Webster, Mulberry, Matthew Williamson presented their fashion on the third day. Topshop, Belstaff, Vivienne Westwood and Mary Katrantzou joined them.

Just like the first days, the last days of this event which was rocked by the graduates of the Central Saint Martins really hit the fashion crowd like a bomb. The aspiring young designers of one of the most renowned fashion schools in the world had the chance to show what they’ve got, working with known brands like Burberry, Gucci and Karl Lagerfeld.

On the final day, the show of the designer Hakaan Yildirim was hosted. This spectacular event ended the whole event with a boom. He presented women’s wear which could barely be surpassed in terms of sensual sexiness. Futurist shapes and innovative materials are transforming H by Hakaan Yildirim into one of the most important labels of the future.
