So, I’ve been in London for 6 months now, and to be honest – I still don’t really know what I’m doing! I came here as a journalist, and I keep afloat working as an au pair. Isn’t that the life everybody yearns for? I for one feel like I can do absolutely anything here in London. Fashion, work and leisure activities – there’s not a thing you can’t do here here. Whatever you wanna do, all you need to do is go out and do it!

And that’s a motto I personally also apply to fashion: as long as you feel good in your skin (and second skin), everything is possible. I wear what I want; I do what I want.

Here’s a heads up for anybody planning to head to London: you will change, that’s for sure. I’m not talking about your personality; I’m talking about your outlook on life. From the moment you step foot into this city of opportunities, nothing will ever be the same again.

Initially, I just wanted to get out of Germany for a bit, but now I’ve spent a fair bit of time abroad, I have to admit that Germany is a very easy country to live in. The healthcare system, the public transportation, the fashion scene, the parties, and so much more are all completely different here in London. It certainly took me some time to adjust! This culture shock was heightened once again by my return to Berlin for a weekend’s holiday. But now I’m back in my beloved city of London, with yet another 6 months to go here – and I’m gonna make those 6 months count.

I’d describe my current situation as “sitting on the fence”. I just can’t make the decision to choose one or the other: should I choose fun and the time of my life, or should I choose the path that rewards me with a great deal of energy, creativity and a truckload of sweets? But then again, the latter always makes me feel like I’m missing something. Regardless, if I was made to decide right now, I wouldn’t be able to do it.

But one thing’s for sure: I still have a couple of amazing things in store for you guys. I’ll keep you updated in the coming weeks – living in London is really not as easy as one might think!
