In one of my previous reports on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin, I introduced the Designer For Tomorrow – Award. This award is given to new designers every year and honors their individual talents. The jury around Tommy Hilfiger especially focuses on innovation. The event is organized by Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf and their online shop Fashion ID.
Ioana Ciolacu is one of the former winners. Participating in the finals means a firework of emotions as the finalists are allowed to present their fashion at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. After the show, a jury chooses the winner and sets the course for a successful future. Not only are the winners promoted, but they also receive the chance to have their own fashion show the following year.
In June 2013, Iona’s life completely changed, of course positively. She visited international fashion houses and built up her own fashion universe thanks to her experiences. Her individual signature always shines through and is also visible in her summer collection 2015.
Elegance and urbanity stay in harmony. While classic pieces, like the black or white dress build up the base, detailed blousons and graphic prints complete the work. Brave color elements such as salmon or royal rose are mixed with muted colors. Femininity and simplicity meet coolness and sportiness.
