Last year, the „Designer for Tomorrow“-Award, which is organized by Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf, took place at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. This is exactly the right place where the awaited fashion event combines the artful innovation of modern, new designers with the incredibly expertise and know-how of big labels.
The DfT-Award has offered space for creativity to talented designers for six years and gives them the chance to approach a big audience. However, this award is not only a big chance for newcomers; also visitors at the Fashion Week can discover new things.
Peek & Cloppenburg’s online shop, „Fashion ID“, will be also featured. The most important feaure of the award will be the involvement of top designer Tommy Hilfiger. No wonder that so many young designers are after this award. The chance to present one’s collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week – who would reject this chance?
This award has now existed for six years. This year, Italian Matteo Lamandini was the winner. Winning doesn’t only mean fame and recognition in the fashion world, but the winners are also going to be supported by an individual promotion program.

Tommy Hilfiger and a jury which consists of fashion professionals choose the best one out of all applicants. They all get the chance to present their lines on the runway. The winner will receive the name „Designer for Tomorrow“ and acknowledgement from the scene.
