Hello fellow beauty lovers.

Welcome back, my loves. I hope you guys had an awesome start into the new month. Unbelievable how time flies, right? I practically blinked my eyes and fall was over. I bet I wake up tomorrow and have to face a brand new year, so it seems.

Today’s article is about a hype, which I admittedly have fallen for myself: Matte lipsticks. They’re everywhere! It may be the result of brands like Mac and Bourjois having revamped the formula of their matte gems. They look matte but they feel amazing, not drying at all.

But I do get that many people simply don’t have the necessary wherewithal to purchase a whole new range just to follow the trend, especially when one lipstick retails for 20 bucks. So I found a nice little trick to transform any lipstick of your choice into one with a matte finish.

How?

Well, all you need is a nicely pigmented concealer (for instance the Studio Fix Concealer by MAC) and a lip brush.

You have the permission to use your loved concealer in a whole other way. If you distribute said concealer on your lips it will act as a little miracle worker. Oh and by the way, if you’re not that keen on how the concealer feels on the lips, dry using a light lip balm underneath. After having distributed the product, just take a lip brush and paint on any lip product you like. The whole texture will be instantly matte. The whole thing works best with a solid concealer.

Incredible, right? Now you can use any lipstick you want and transform it into the trend everybody’s been after. I really like the finish my concealer creates. I hope you guys can get similar results and let me know which colors you like to “transform”, too. 😉

Yours truly,

Lana
