Berlin is catching up – for the first time, a permanent exhibition about fashion will be opened in our beloved capital city.  This is of course awesome news because the fashion metropolis actually got rid of its reputation as a mere insider’s tip long ago already. People directly working in the fashion scene as well as hobby fashion experts and couture enthusiasts consider Berlin a new Mecca of fashion, marked by a vast multitude of styles.

No matter whether you are going to Neukölln, Mitte or Kreuzberg, each borough seems to have developed its own style when it comes to fashion. Just like in London, New York or Paris, the streets are filled with real trendsetters. Small and big Berlin labels sell their individual look even beyond German territory. Annually, international designers find themselves in Berlin at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to present their latest collections. But there is one thing which was still lacking: an entire permanent exhibition devoted to nothing but fashion.

Well, said exhibition was opened on November 22nd and can be discovered in the impressive premises of the Kunstgewerbemuseum. The central location at the Potsdamer Platz alone will convince many fashion fans to pay this exhibition a visit.  In the entrance hall of the museum, a journey through 150 years of fashion history awaits you, with the help of clothing pieces of renowned fashion designers like Christian Dior and Elsa Schiaparelli. I’m sure not only fashion fans will like this exhibition…
