Jonathan Payne is a modeler and sculptor from L.A. His focus is on the design and molding of characters and creatures … and boy are they crazy.

He has learned from the best, Jordu Schell for instance, who gained prominence for his work in Hollywood movies. Jonathan Payne likes to use oil, polymers and WED clay, a special kind of modeling material for his work.

His most renowned work goes by the name Fleshlettes. These are small meat balls that contain human tissue and organs like eyes, hair, teeth. His interpretation of art really makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up especially when I glance to the horrifying pictures in form of teratomas. Medically seen it’s sickening to see how Jonathan Payne molds different kind of tissues and meat to a humanoid body. Looking at this you certainly wish that this thing just doesn’t have anything human in it but it does.

Other sculptures show more or less human and subhuman creatures that came into being with frightening realistic details. Those things are creatures from your nightmares that were put into this world of us by skilled fingers and a creative mind.

What do your dreams look like during the night, Jonathan Payne?
